Basic Education in Oyo State in with John Oluwafemi Olla and Alhaji Iskil Yussuf, Anchored Ajibade Abiodun on Noble 107.1 FM Ibadan.

On “The Discuss” today May 8, 2019 at Noble107.1 FM, I was privileged to discuss the issue of basic education in Oyo State along side a veteran in community development Alhaji Iskil Yussuf. 
During the discussion we discussed the issue of Quality and Standard of education in Oyo State in relation to education financing, political will, innovation among other things. 
The issue of WAEC ranking for 2018 was discussed and the perceived reason for the decline. 
During the discussion, I mention the title of this years’ Global Action Week for Education #GAWE2019“My Education, My Right”. I emphasised the need for Civil Society to rise and remind the government of the need to make basic education an enforceable law. In the process Alhaji Iskil mentioned the fact most our leaders enjoyed free education that they are now preaching against.
At the end of the discussion both discussants proposed solutions to the problem facing quality education with all the advice directed to the in coming Governor/ Governor-Elect.
